User Experience Innovation

Improving digital experiences through creative problem solving

While eating at restaurants, using websites, and any other day-to-day activities there is one thing constantly on my mind: How could this experience be improved? Ideas like robotically-served chipotle restaurants and automatic time trackers for contractors pop into my mind constantly.

When I co-founded my software agency and began taking contracts I was able to express my creativity through innovating user-experiences. During one contract I worked on a website page where users could purchase glass table tops. In the existing page users could either select an option to shop premade glass (already in stock) or custom glass (made on demand). This segmentation seemed intuitive to the existing team at the company as there is a clear distinction on how these types of glass are made. I knew this was a poor experience, because users do not care if their glass is premade or custom. There is no reason why users should check if the glass they want is in stock before requesting a custom build.

I proposed a design where the two pages were combined. The user simply configures the glass they want, and the website notifies them if an exact or similar glass configuration is available in-stock at a lower price. The result was a far better user experience that increased the sales of pre-made glass and improved customer retention.

I believe I can take my talent of transforming user experience to many applications and eventually tackle some of the more ambitious ideas I have. Through original thinking, deep refinement of ideas, and development of my technical hardware and software engineering skills, I believe I can innovate with no limits, and express my creativity to the fullest extent.
